Asian Pear Fruit Tree
Currently unavailable
'Asian 4 in 1' espalier is a decorative fruit tree with four different varieties of Asian pear grafted onto a single rootstock and trained to grow flat against a wall or trellis. This unique growing method saves a significant amount of space, provides a high yield of fruit from a small footprint, and is used as a striking ornamental feature in a garden. A common combination for this espalier includes the following Asian pear varieties, known for their specific flavors, ripening times, and textures: 'Chojuro': Brownish-orange skin with a sweet, rich, butterscotch-like flavor. 'Hosui': Golden-brown skin with very juicy, sweet, and crisp flesh. 'Shinseiki': Yellow-green skin with juicy, slightly tart, and firm flesh. '20th Century' ('Nijisseiki'): Smooth, pale-yellow skin with a crisp, mild, and refreshing taste. The four varieties on a single tree are cross-pollinating, meaning a separate pollinator tree is not required for the tree to produce fruit.
