Prunus x cistena 'UCONNPCSDR' PPAF Stay Classy™
Purpleleaf Sand Cherry
Currently unavailable
A common landscape workhorse gets a makeover! With a more compact and tidy habit and better color retention from slightly less dense branching, this cultivar can be used almost anywhere to bring a bright pop of purple foliage. Small white flowers in spring can be followed by small fruits, but those are likely to be devoured by birds before they're noticed. Will tolerate some shade but may not flower and may have less intense red and purple coloring.
