Prunus virginiana 'Canada Red'
'Shubert' Chokecherry
In stock · from $14.99
An oval to rounded tree with foliage that emerges bright green, turning to bright reddish-purple. New growth continues to come out bright green throughout the growing season. Small white flowers clusters 3-5" turn to small dark purple fruit that birds love. Fruit should not be eaten raw by humans, but can be processed into jams and jellies. A tough hardy tree for difficult applications. A drawback to the tree is the suckering that can occur from the base of the tree.
