An attractive and naturally symmetrical cone-shaped profile that distinguishes it from the common white spruce. Its compact habit not only enhances its visual appeal but also bolsters its resilience against winter damage. The vibrant green foliage it produces upon new growth undergoes a graceful transformation into a captivating blue-green hue. Beyond its aesthetic merits, this spruce species also serves as a valuable resource for wildlife, offering winter refuge, nesting sites, and forage.
