Bee Balm

Fragrant foliage grows in clumps below large red flowers that look like shaggy pom-poms. Weeks of blooms from late summer into fall attract masses of hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Does not tolerate wet winter soils or completely dry soils in summer. Remove spent blooms to prolong the bloom period. Good circulation will help prevent powdery mildew.
