Eastern Black Walnut
In stock · from $180.99
Large deciduous tree with an open, oval crown at maturity. Compound green foliage is serrated along the edges and will turn yellow in the fall. Edible fruit is a nut, originally having a green semi-fleshy covering, then changing to black and breaking open. Ripens around mid-October. Nice choice for big yards, parks, or wide open areas. Produces juglone, a chemical that can make it difficult for other plants to grow underneath.
