Needle and Thread Grass

Currently unavailable

A native grass critical to range species across the western United States. A cool season grass that greens up quickly early in the season but goes dormant for the heat of summer after producing shimmering beards of drooping seeds. Highly drought tolerant and reduces erosion even in areas recently disturbed by fires. Young plants can provide browsing for cattle and wildlife, but sharp seeds reduce summer forage value.
