Desert Willow
Currently unavailable
Also known as a Desert Catalpa, this willow-leaved shrub or small tree will have multiple large pink flowers with deeper colored throats. Fragrant and highly attractive to hummingbirds and native bees. Long, skinny seed pods are produced in fall, persisting through winter and can reseed prolifically in the right conditions. Initially grows quickly and then slows as it establishes. If planted in a zone 7, will need protection from coldest winter temperatures and may die back to the ground. Blooms on new wood, so may need some pruning to boost flowering.
