Add contrast to your landscape with dramatic nearly black foliage. Bright pink flowers coat the branches before the heart-shaped leaves emerge, boasting a glossy red-black color and remaining a deep burgundy through the summer months. Fall brings vibrant chartreuse color. Tolerates clay soils and frequent moisture. May need some protection from the hottest afternoon sun and harsh wind to keep leaves looking their best.
