Snowbrush Cinnamon Bush
Ceanothus velutinus
Snowbrush Cinnamon Bush
Currently unavailable
A dense shrub featuring evergreen glossy green leaves with velvety silver undersides. Cones of tiny white flowers are reminiscent of lilacs in appearance and while the flowers are not scented, the leaves are known to smell sickly sweet when crushed. Growing on a main taproot, this shrub is drought tolerant when established and fixes nitrogen in soil. Cold hardiness can be dependent on snow coverage. Native to western Rocky Mountain regions. Thrives in most soils that are not heavy clay and in full sun to part shade.
