Carpinus caroliniana 'J.N. Upright' Firespire®
American Hornbeam
Currently unavailable
Columnar and easy to care for tree with year round interest. Spring brings curious catkin flowers in an orange-brown hue just as the leaves begin to unfurl. Textured and semi-recurved leaves through the summer become vivid orange and red in fall. The gray bark has a nice texture to enjoy in winter. Works great for a screen and is low maintenance. Birds love to nest in the thick, upright branches.
