Upright tree with highly attractive panicles of deep pink flowers in spring. 5 large leaflets make up each leaf, making for dense foliage that is more resistant to burn than other varieties. More cold hardy than most red-flowered Aesculus. Produces a fair amount of large, edible nuts that can attract wildlife.
